I just posted a re-edited excerpt from a longer improvisation from November 20 2009..Certainly in the "ambient" mode..I'm not sure i'm going to leave this one up..so enjoy it until i decide if it stays or not...

Today i'm adding an excerpt from a very long live improvisation from the very early 1990's which I call "Ambient Guitar".

This was recorded directly to cassette-so the audio quality isn't great. It's also pretty much the only thing I have left to post here-unless I start recording again.
This is a piece I created using an acoustic guitar and looping device.

Having very few completed recordings to post here, I decided to go back even further into my past, some time in the late 90's. I never jotted down the actual date when I recorded this...

"Evening Guitar 1" is NOT a composed piece but rather an experiment in playing live using short loops. Only a little piece of electric guitar at the end is overdubbed, The rest of the tune was done live by me alone.

There's some "imperfections" in there, but I quite like the mood that it evokes, although it's a very very simple piece.

By the way the photo that goes with this piece is another shot I took in the NJ Palisades Sept. 2009

"Palisades Suite parts 1-3":

My initial music posting here will be the last thing I composed, played and recorded around 2001 before life and lack of inspiration caused me to "retire". I hope some day to get back into the creative mode and continue...

"Palisades Suite parts 1-3" is an instrumental suite dedicated to the drive/walk scenic area of the New Jersey Palisades..From the Jersey side one can look over and see NYC. But it's the roads and paths on the NJ side that are the inspiration for this piece. At the time I composed it I hadn't actually been there in about 15 years but had very vivid memories.

Finally in Spetember 2009 I went back again to reaquaint myself with it and take photos. My profile photo is from that trip.

I then went back into my computer files the following week to relocate my last composed piece, originally forgetting what I had titled it. By coincidence I discovered that It was titled the "Palisades Suite", initially forgetting that the Palisades WAS the original inspiration for it. Coincidence indeed?

I play all the instruments on this: Guitars-Electric, Acoustic, Nylon String, Guitar Synthesizer, Hand Percussion, and Ocarina.
